OnFebruary 18, 1967, we are in Caldogno, a small town in the province of Vicenza, an ancient Roman village that became a famous Ghibelline outpost during the scrambles of Federico Barbarossa. Where everything started, many remember that boy with fragile knees that went very well in the fields: we are talking about Roberto Baggio born, in fact, in Caldogno. At the gates of Vicenza, only 10 km away, the city that in 1994 was declared a Universal Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, Vicenza is adorned with a majestic architecture that draws every corner reciting only one name: Andrea Palladio. Here the architectural genius has left the most evident sign of his art, which today we can admire in the buildings of unmistakable elegance. Among all the Basilica Palladiana, from whose upper floor you can enjoy an exciting view of the three squares below, and the splendid Loggia del Capitanio. At the gates of Vicenza, we meet one of its most well-known architectural symbols, that is the country house Villa Almerico-Capra, called La Rotonda, famous for the particular development of the central plant that fits harmoniously in the natural setting of the Berici Hills.
